2018 Granville County United Way Annual Meeting and Awards Recognition Dinner

Granville County United Way held its Annual Meeting and Awards Recognition Dinner at First Baptist Church in Creedmoor on April 26th. Special thanks to the men and women of the church for preparing a delicious meal. This annual event offers United Way a chance to publicly recognize donors, individuals and business who contribute to our annual campaign. Contributions are allocated each spring to local health and human service agencies that empower those in need in our community. 

 

New board members were recognized and board members rolling off the board - Shannon Cottrell and Rev. Dr. Omotolokun Omokunde - were honored for their years of service. 2018-2019

Largest Campaign - Altec Industries with more than $220,000 in contributions to our United Way this year. 

Largest Per Capita Campaign - Altec Industries. 

Employee Spirit Award - Masonic Home for Children

Corporate Spirit Award - Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company

Lorie Coley received the 2017 Volunteer of the Year Award. 

Sandy Whitfield/Altec Industries received The 2017 Beacon Award. 

 

Charla Duncan, Granville County Management Analyst, spoke of GCUW's 3 year partnership with Granville County at the GAP.  GCUW partners will provide 6 projects to enhance GAP offerings. Those include Sensory Garden and Pickle Ball Courts - Altec Industries; Little Free Libraries and StoryBook Walk - FVG Smart Start and Boy Scouts, Outdoor Classroom - Masonic Home for Children and Bridgestone Commercial Solutions; Butterfly Garden - Falls Lake Academy.
